Why I Write
For more than thirty-five years, I helped people prepare for tax season.
Every year, thousands of numbers passed across my desk.
Behind those numbers were real lives.
Families celebrating new beginnings.
Parents raising children.
Couples starting over.
People retiring.
Widows learning to live alone.
Young adults taking their first steps into independence.
I realized something.
Everyone has a story.
When I entered a new season of my own life, I discovered that I wanted to spend my time helping people in a different way.
Not by preparing tax returns…
…but by writing books that help people navigate the seasons of life.
The Library of Wisdom wasn’t created to fill shelves.
It was created because I believe the right book can arrive at exactly the right moment.
Some books help us heal.
Some help us laugh.
Some remind us that we still have choices.
Some simply let us know we are not alone.
Today, my greatest hope is simple.
That somewhere in these pages, you’ll discover a book that speaks to your season of life.
And while you’re reading…
I hope I’m somewhere exploring a quiet trail, standing beside a waterfall, watching a sunset in another corner of the world, or collecting new stories that remind me how beautiful this life can still be.
Because that’s the life I spent decades working toward.
Thank you for visiting the Library of Wisdom.
I hope you’ll return often.
There will always be another book waiting for you.

Why Did You Begin Writing After Your Leadership Career?
After more than thirty-five years in leadership and management, I entered a new season of life with a simple question: What do I want to do with everything life has taught me?
Throughout my career, I had the privilege of helping people solve problems, make decisions, and navigate change. When retirement began to appear on the horizon, I realized my desire to help others hadn’t changed—it had simply found a new way to be expressed.
Writing became my second career and my greatest joy. It allows me to continue encouraging, teaching, and inspiring people long after our paths may never cross in person.
Why Nonfiction?
I write nonfiction because life has already written the greatest stories.
The lessons we learn through family, relationships, disappointments, forgiveness, aging, purpose, and new beginnings are real. Those experiences connect us more deeply than fiction ever could.
My books are grounded in everyday life. They are written to encourage honest reflection, practical wisdom, and hope for people walking through life’s changing seasons.
Why So Many Books?
People often ask why I’ve written so many books.
The answer is simple.
Every season of life asks different questions.
Someone struggling with adult children isn’t searching for the same answers as someone preparing for retirement. A person rebuilding after heartbreak needs a different kind of encouragement than someone searching for purpose.
Rather than trying to write one book that answers everything, I’ve chosen to write many books—each one focused on a specific season, challenge, or life experience.
My hope is that readers will always find a book that meets them exactly where they are.
Why the Library of Wisdom?
I never wanted to create a collection of unrelated books.
I wanted to build a place where readers could return throughout their lives.
The Library of Wisdom was created around one simple belief:
Every season of life deserves wisdom.
Whether someone is beginning again, healing, making an important decision, embracing retirement, or simply looking for encouragement, I want them to know there is a book waiting for them.
The Library of Wisdom isn’t just a collection of books.
It’s an invitation to keep growing, learning, and believing that every new season still holds purpose.
What Do You Hope Readers Take Away?
More than anything, I hope readers leave my books feeling encouraged.
I hope they discover that they are not alone in what they are facing.
I hope they find the courage to make difficult decisions, the grace to forgive themselves and others, and the confidence to embrace whatever season comes next.
If one of my books helps someone laugh again, find peace, restore hope, or simply believe tomorrow can be better than today, then I’ve accomplished exactly what I set out to do.
Because at the heart of every book I write is one simple message:
Your story isn’t over yet.
What legacy do you hope to leave?
I hope to leave behind more than books.
I hope to leave behind encouragement.
I want my grandchildren, my readers, and future generations to know that every season of life still holds purpose.
If my words help someone make a wiser decision, heal a relationship, find hope after disappointment, or believe it’s never too late to begin again, then I will have lived a life that mattered.
My greatest success won’t be measured by the number of books I’ve written.
It will be measured by the number of lives those books quietly touched.
